She calls you back when you’re ready to meet her differently.
Ten years ago, we landed in Peru during one of the absolute hardest seasons of our lives. To be totally honest, we were completely ungrounded, disconnected from who we were, and carrying a massive amount of emotional baggage we didn’t even know how to name yet. We had no clue what we were doing, just a quiet, desperate inner knowing that something had to change.
That first trip completely flipped our lives upside down in the best way possible.
And now, a decade later, we are going back.
This time, thankfully, we aren't running away from a life crisis or a total nervous breakdown. We are stepping into this next chapter from a completely different headspace. We’re returning feeling supported, resourced, and incredibly intentional about how we meet this work. There is something so humbling about meeting the medicine again after ten years. We aren't showing up to be fixed like broken appliances this time. We are just going to listen more closely, deepen our relationship with ourselves, and see what else is ready to open up.
We’ll spend a month immersed in the Peruvian jungle at Nihue Rao, sitting in sixteen ceremonies guided by traditional Shipibo shamans. To prepare for a month of intense medicine and sweating in a hammock, we’ve been slowly clearing space in our lives. We’ve been softening the noise, eating clean, and intentionally stepping back from the constant overstimulation of the modern world. It’s not about punishing ourselves; we just want to become sensitive enough to actually hear what the jungle is trying to tell us.
So, we are walking back toward the source with a lot of respect, a healthy dose of nerves, and a complete willingness to be total beginners all over again.
